Thought I would keep the whole navel gazing theme going here. Ever since we cancelled cable and switched to antenna my wife has been downloading and watching entire series of shows.

She is now onto Nip/Tuck and I happened to be sitting here on my computer and thinking, "My God, do these people ever stop &*^&*ing????"

I don't think I'm a prude but holy crap. When I was a kid I would stay up until 11 to see a boob on channel 47 (Italian movies). Now it is soft core porn on TV. Maybe it's being a parent, but I think it is too much.

And it's disgusting scenarios too. This episode they took a woman's toe and made it into a clitoris, then like the next day the doctor decides to take it for a test drive!! All I could think was ewww gross!!! Another woman decides she wants to get pregnant and her BF would not agree, so she goes to a meeting for sex addicts and has sex with like 3 guys, and they show full on sex.

I think that's a bit much.

Actually no, that was one episode. There were at least 6 graphic sex scenes in one 45 minute episode.

Stick to shows with murder and guns. North Americans are desensitized to violence and you will find those shows more palatable.

Well the toe/clit thing is definitely fcked up...I don't even get that? That's weirder then some porns I've watched...and you can find anything in porn.

But anyways, aside from that fcked up sh*t the rest is just sex...just might not be the vanilla sex you're used to.

It's funny you say that. I am almost entirely a reality TV or documentary junkie. I don't regularly watch any drama's. I'm sure there are good ones out there but who has time to watch everything?

The only shows I get exposed to are from my wife. Once in a while I see (over the top of my laptop) Grey's Anatomy, which I find painfully bad. A bunch of whiny doctors that are constantly moaning about their difficult lives? No thanks.

But I do really enjoy Private Practice, which has it's fair share of sex scenes, but they are tasteful and not every 5 minutes.

Nah, I don't think you're a prude. I'm a prude, because I find it very inappropriate for parents of a few kids on my street to let them call adults (myself included) by their first names and not Mr. or Ms. before asking if it's okay to, but that's a diff topic for another day.

There are lots of weird shite and fantasies out there in the real world that it's really not that weird. People just don't talk about it b/c of social deviance. So on that show, esp if it is shot in California where there are lots of weirdos, they probably get story ideas from things that go down there. Even here locally, there are probably people who use Ashley Madison-type services, or spouses who cheat. It just doesn't get talked about.

Californication is one of the greatest shows ever. Freeeaaaking hilarious.

Watch Jersey Shore, If you cant even handle that ....... well then.....
