Where is the advertising for the Halloween "trick-or-treating" on Main Street?

Hi Richardv and Cupcakemommies

The theme has changed this year to be an Apple festival next Saturday October 22, from 12 noon to 4 pm. including trick or treating down Main Street.

http://www.downtownmilton.com/

The BIA will be closing off the parking lot at the corner of Main and Brown in front of the Post Office for events and displays.

More information in this weeks Champion.

What's wrong with calling it Halloween?

I was thinking the same thing. Just the start of a downward spiral for this town. Start thinking of a different name now for the Santa Claus parade. Lol

Can you really call it "Halloween" when you're running it a week early?

The Christmas parade is, and it's obviously earlier. Everything in October revolves around Halloween. This is just stupid.

They'd probably get a better turn out if they called it a Halloween event..

There's been apples everywhere, and Halloween no where!

Thanks for the comments and feedback. I apologize if the message that this is a Hallowe'en event as well as an Apple Fest hasn't been communicated properly.
Every year, we host our Tiny Tots on Parade event, which gives children under the age of 5 to dress in their costumes and trick or treat at participating merchants downtown.
Tiny Tots on Parade is still a major part of the event on October 22 but this year, we have also added the Apple Fest component as well. Apple Fest will feature children's games, face painting, a haunted house, and more. Apple pies from EC Drury Food School will be available for sale as well. This is part of our new Downtown Cares campaign and all proceeds will be donated to the hospital.
I hope that you can join us for our harvest and Hallowe'en themed events on October 22 from noon to 4 pm in Downtown Milton.

My 2cents:

Don't change the name to appease people who don't do the Halloween thing ... they won't come either way.
Plus, you'll lose those who normally come out for halloween.

Thank you for the feedback muzee.
It has actually always been called "Tiny Tots on Parade". We haven't changed that name, we've just added the Apple Fest component to it.
I really do appreciate your thoughts and taking the time to put your two cents in.
Donna

Read the thread on the other forum. Nothing different there than there is there. Some people upset, some people get the name thing. BTW using the term "other racist forum" implies this forum is racist as well. Let's be wary of namecalling.

Both Rick and Zeesh participate "over there", are you calling them racists?
