See www.Milton.ca Strange though a couple people mentioned old site is coming up for them. When you go to www.milton.ca do you see new or old site? |

Old site. No difference. Despite the announcement on the home page. What's the new page supposed to look like? (If you've got a screenshot) Maybe the changes are just too subtle to notice. |

I see the new site on my laptop running firefox. I haven't poked around yet but it looks nice! One thing maybe a councilor could mention to the appropriate person is that Engineering Services always takes forever updating their quarterly reports, the one posted online is still for Q1 2011, by the time these are posted the news is already old usually! |

Quote: For the next few days you may experience some disruption to our website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause Above quote was part of the Town of Milton news release describing the new site. So there may be some kinks to be worked out as the changes are implemented.

Its not that weird. They re-pointed their DNS and that can take 24-48 hours to propagate throughout the intarweb. Name: www.milton.ca Address: 66.252.151.200 (old) Name: www.milton.ca Address: 216.16.234.25 (new) My guess.. they moved to a hosted with Rogers vs hosted in Milton using their blink line. Something like that anyways. Rick Di Lorenzo wrote: No it's a major change

The "old" website lists all 3 (1st, 2nd and 3rd) quarterly reports for engineering. The "new" website" lists the 1st and 2nd but it's missing the 3rd currently. Look near the end of the list on the new website, you should see ENG-038-11 Second Quarterly Report 2011. Give them a day or so. If it's not in-sync by tuesday morning I'll send them a ping (or you can as well using the feedback/contact links on the site). But I don't want to do so now as they mentioned there are still possible disruptions to be worked out so this might be one of them.
http://www.milton.ca/council/councildoc ... orts11.htm URL to the old report page, do search and you should see ENG-038-11 (2nd quarter) and ENG-046-11 (3rd quarter) in there if your browser loads that list from the old website. |

It's got a nice look to it, and I've had a quick look for some of the things I've looked for recently and was able to find the information much quicker. It would be nice if things like the Frequently requested by-laws page didn't require me to download a PDF to view the by-law. Also, under http://www.milton.ca/en/build/homebuild ... vation.asp some of the links point to http://townofmilton.icreate4.esolutionsgroup.ca but the page still looks like the Milton site. Almost looks like some of the links weren't updated from a development site when it was put into production. |

My browser won't let me see that link from the old website. However I have never seen a "list" of these reports, I just go to the construction projects page and there is a link titled "Project Updates -Published Quarterly" and it takes me to the in theory most current one, which at present provides the Q1 report. Are you referring to a different location where this list is as I don't see an option to see any other report on this page. Thanks |

Thanks On the new wesbsite click on Town Hall, then Mayor and Council, then Agendas, Minutes and Reports, then click on 2011 reports. Under engineering look for the quarterly reports. You should be able to see them there.
The way you found that 1st quarterly report looks like an "orphan". It either shouldn't be there or it should be updated to point to the 3rd quarterly report (which is online just takes awhile to find it). I'll make sure town staff are aware of the discrepancy in the reports. |

If you can't get the "new" website to load yet at www.milton.ca from your computer you can cheat and get to it at http://townofmilton.icreate4.esolutions ... /index.asp |

Not a fan so far. People go to websites for information, not screen filling photos. And, you would think mapping would be under "roads" but,,,,,. I'll keep looking. |
