For those of you shopping for wood furniture, consider Halton Homestead. I've driven by this place countless times only to go in yesterday to see their selection.

Their prices are amazing. I visited Woodcraft who had an ad in the Friday newspaper for 25% for a Turnbuckle and Mill St Table. Halton Homestead was at least $500 cheaper on the same table without any sale and they don't charge for the rough saw marks ($150) and the end leaves are $80 bucks cheaper.

Also, their chairs are on average $100 cheaper - approx $200.

If anyone knows of a better deal, please let me know.

I had an amazing experience at Halton Homestead. Friendly staff. Beautiful furniture. Great Prices. I had shopped around at about 4 different stores. 2 of the stores also had Mennonite furniture, but the prices were so much better at Halton Homestead!
Previously I have shopped at places such as Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel. So it was a great surprise to find out that I could choose the type of wood for my new bedroom set. I also needed the foot board a little lower and that was no problem. And getting to choose the colour was probably my favourite part. Of course, I had to wait longer to get my furniture than at other places (Where you can take it home with you that day) But that's because it's hand made. Also local to Ontario!!!
It is beautiful and I am so happy with my set. The lovely young lady who helped me pick out my set was very knowledgeable, kind and most importantly she made me feel like it was more important for me to take my time and pick out exactly what I wanted than for her to make a sale. She was not pushy at all.
I highly recommend Halton Homestead to anyone who is looking for beautiful wood furniture. And like lacoste3 said, the prices are incredibly low compared to other places.
