I am paying 5.25% for an unsecured line of credit ($15k) with TD....am I getting hosed? just curious what rate others are getting. I am not interested in a home equity line. Thanks in advance... |

5.25 seems a little higher then I would be willing to pay, but I know nothing about you, your income or credit history. |

I have great credit history and I just got my bank to drop my unsecure line to 5.99. Don't think you're getting hosed. |

Ha, we're breaking our mortgage and switching banks. They offered us 10% loc! We laughed - our credit is in the 800's. Our existing one is 5.5%. |

Thanks in advance... I strongly recommend that you pay off this debt ASAP and stop, repeat STOP, buying things on credit. The rtule you should follwo is simple " If you dont have the cash for it, than dont buy it". Consumer debt is a curse. Be smart and cut up your credit cards, pay cash, do not borrow money ! Man, you never stop with the stupid posts do you. Credit is good for everyone if it is used wisely. |

Yeah I have a line of credit with a zero balance on it. It's called 'a bit of security in case of an emergency'. Guess I'm just a schmuck. |

I think my PCF one is over 6%. I guess I would care if I really used it what the rate was, but I've at times floated some bucks there for a few days. For the most part, I use it to write cheques so I don't stress when people go cashing them at random times. Rather then go into O/D on my chequing account, or keep a high enough balance to handle unexpected cheques, I leave all of that in my high interest savings and cut cheques outta the LOC. |

Does someone piss in your bran flakes every morning, or is trying to belittle people you don't know on the internet just a form of amusement for you? |

Thanks in advance... What is wrong with using a home equity line of credit? Debt is debt no matter what type of product it is (credit card, line of credit, overdraft) but you are better off paying a lower interest rate than 5.25%, no? |

I just moved over to a HELOC for flexibility. Plus I want to do some investments with the equity I have. Our rate is 3.5% and I secured a portion of the HELOC as a "mortgage" at 2.99% for 4 years. I have an unsecured one at 5% as well, never used, just there in case... Probably will close it now that we have the HELOC... |
