Come join the Optimist Club of Milton for it's Inaugural Walk in the Park event at Optimist Park (Savoline Blvd south of Derry), Sunday June 17th for Father's Day. Drop in between 10AM and 3PM for a variety of family fun and games, and learn more about your local club and the work we do in the community. The keynote event is a walk around the park where the kids can collect 4 puzzle pieces that are assembled into a Father's Day card (limited to the first 100 participants) and free freezies for the kids. All the regular park amenities including the playground, splash pad, and tennis courts will also still be open and available for use.

We have various sports groups working with us to provide fun activities on the soccer fields as well including an opportunity to learn some cricket skills courtesy of Milton Cricket Ground from 10-12, baseball, some traditional games including egg and spoon races. We're also extremely pleased to have a great father and son team, James D. Scott and his dad Jim helping us with the puzzle event and also will be doing a boxing demo in the afternoon. More details to come on participants and activities!

We'll also be collecting non-perishable food items to support the local Salvation Army Food Bank.

Hi Knave,
Activities will cater to a fairly wide age range.
There will be an opportunity to try out aspects of cricket from 10-12 PM that would be suitable for ages 4/5 up and there will also be similar opportunities with baseball/tee ball from 12-3PM. There will be a boxing demo at 1:00 PM by local aspiring professional athlete James Scott which caters to all ages. We're just confirming up a couple more things. Games will be more for the 6-11/12 crowd and we'll be firming up a schedule for that soon but likely around noon. The puzzle caters to the pre-teen crowd but if older kids want to make a puzzle card for dad that's great as well and they certainly won't be turned away and it's more as long as supplies last (we have 100 made).
