Any recommendations? I've been told I may have to leave very early in order to make it for 9am at work. I'm also debating changing my work hours to either 10am - 6pm or 8am - 4pm if that would make a considerable difference in commute time.

I asked the magic 8 ball for an answer - it told me: I see a crappy drive and a 407 bill in your future.

If you can swing the start/finish times, absolutely do it. You will be forever thankful. Personally I would do the 8am to 4pm, but that's just so I could get home early to see my daughter.

That extra half hour makes SO much difference in the traffic.

Funny I'll be going that way in about a week. If I leave the office at 3PM, I'm usually at the Mississauga/Milton border near 9th line at around 3:40PM if I get off at Hurontario (where the bottleneck starts) and head into town via Derry.

It'd be 30 if you just stayed on the 401.

It usually bottlenecks around the 410/403 off-ramp and Hurontario - I should just ride it out eh?

If the 401 is really jammed between 410 and Mavis in the collectors, head north on 410 and move west on Courtneypark to Mavis. The entrance back on to the 401 is right there.

Thanks guys! Personally i would love the 8 - 4 work time as i'd really love to enjoy some time in the evenings. The thought of the extra long commute scares me.

Ready for this.

Tremaine to dundas to 25 to qew ( make sure you look at the traffic sign just before the ford plant ) if it says 12-14 min to the 427 you are ok to continue on the qew.

Now if that sign says 20-27 min this is what to do, get off on Winston Churchill or Erin Mills and take the south service rd all the way to Mississauga rd and get back on the qew, now if Mississauga rd is backed up getting on the Qew...take indian grove to indian rd back to Mississauga rd and back on the qew ( the reason for that part is that the on ramp from the south service rd is about 50 feet long and a ton of people want to get on the qew from that point) so taking the indian rd part back to mississauga rd the on ramp that way isnt really used, now from that point stay on the qew or get off at hurontario or cawthra and use the south service rd again.

Now for the ride home when september comes.

427 to 401 to hurontario to 407 to 401 to steeles to bronte to derry to savoline to mcjannett

I no longer use that way home... just use the qew

1 hour each way.... if it snows or rains then its a hole different ball game

Have fun

I do this drive everyday
