Hi. Just wanted to know if people had a favourite local pet store for buying a fish for a pet? We want to get one for my daughter in a couple of weeks. I have heard Beta fish are easy to take care of. Any thoughts? |

Beta fish are easy to care for, but please don't keep them in a little tiny 1 gallon bowl. Give them space, at least a 5-10 gallon tank will be adequate for 1 beta. |

My husband and I had bought a celestial goldfish...he lasted a year until we went on vacation, left him with our in-laws and he was dead by the time we came back. But he was the cutest little thing...he'd swim up to the top of the tank when we'd go near and he'd just watch us. I miss him

Cool story bro, nothing to do with the original question unfortunately. Beta fish are easy to take care of, give them more space than a gumball machine to swim in and don't put more than one together. |

I had a smaller saltwater aquarium with some lemonpeels, shrimp, clownfish, but am constructing a new one in my basement that will be about 500gal, still working out some logistics for it and the room it will be housed in.

Local aquarium enthusiast people where I used to live, but now it is pretty easy on the Internet. There are dedicated aquarium forums, most people there would give you a recommended "starter aquarium" based on the size you want and will recommend how to set it up, what fish to put in etc. |
