Is anyone thinking of putting in any gas appliances in their new homes?

These are the gas appliances that we would be putting in:

BBQ, stove, dryer and a fireplace.

WE WILL BE PUTTING IN A GAS RANGE, WE HAVE A GAS FIREPLACE IN OUR FLOOR PLAN ALREADY - WE WERE OUT ON THE WEEKEND LOOKING AT APPLIANCES -- I REALLY LIKE THE MAYTAG NEPTUNE WASHER/DRYER COMBO. OUR KITCHEN APPLIANCES WILL PROBABLY BE EITHER KITCHENAID OR WHIRLPOOL. WE FOUND A NICE SLIDE IN GAS RANGE FROM KITCHEN AID - WE JUST HAVE TO GET THE MEASUREMENTS AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY WILL FIT. WE ARE GOING IN THE NEW YEAR TO BUY THE NEWER MODELS THAT ARE COMING OUT.

Nancy and Cory, I just want to give you a quick "Netiquette" lesson. When using caps in any online message or email it gives the impression that you are yelling. That and it makes your posts pretty hard to read.

Sorry to be the Netiquette police :(

This past week I've been doing research on all different appliances and so far...
We're putting in a gas cook top, not oven (research has told me that an electric oven is the better route to go, and a gas cook top is the better), a gas dryer---I like the Neptune too! , a gas BBQ (already own one so might as well get it hooked up), a main floor fireplace (comes with the house) and maybe a master bedroom fireplace (depends upon the cost as we have a friend in the business)

You can find a lot of info on all the brand name websites---kitchenaid, jennair (the only one that has downdraft cooktops if you go with the HOMESHOW), dacor, whirlpool, bosch, fisherpackal, maytag, thermadore, etc.
What I don't like is if you went with RBC mortagage and are getting the rebate you lose 10% if you buy appliances :(

When I went to the design centre I was told that we give them the dimensions of our appliances (found on websites) and they make the kitchen fit them...so we don't have to worry about getting the right size, we can just get what we like----has any one heard this :?:

This appliance canada place. Can you purchase there if you are not upgrading or a "new" house owner? Just bought a resale hawthorne home but need fridge and stove.

Tasco Distributors was a great place for us for our appliances. Beat everyone else by a nice margin.
