In the last few weeks I had to throw out Bananas, Melons and Mangoes bought at Superstore which went bad before they ripened.
Both the Bananas and the Mangoes were somewhat green on the outside and were rotten on the inside. I had to dump the mangoes and the mellons because they smelled and tasted like nail polish remover and I salvaged whatever I could from the bananas.

Is it just me or does SuperStore carry low quality produce?

Superstore is only good for toilet paper, paper towels and other non-food items when they have a sale. Same with Wal Mart and No Frills. Longo's is the place to shop.

Their produce there is not very good, I agree. I just buy their Dole packaged salads. I also second Longo's. The more expensive places that cater to higher-income shoppers tend to have better produce (i.e. Longos, Whole Foods).

can't say I've ever really had an issue with Superstore produce. I had an issue once with some clementines that come in thoe wood crates at Christmas, but thats it after about 6 years of shopping there.

I stopped buying anything but canned goods at Loblaws after the Longo's opened up. You should too.

We wont buy meat or dairy there....always went bad before the date. Only buy canned goods there, and only if I have to. Shop at Longos now.... or if I'm in a rush.....Metro's

I stopped buying fruit at the Superstore. Typical imported stuff that is picked and shipped unripe and has a one day window of ripeness, then it goes rotten.
I decided not to be another sucker who pays good money for rock hard sour plums and genetically altered unjuicy but plump ("gummy bear") grapes that are not enjoyable to eat. If the price for access to fruit when it's out of season locally means paying good money for unripened crap then I'll pass.

Superstore is horrible. I used to shop there all the time (2+ yrs ago) but after several trips to find empty shelves, rotten fruit and when I did buy something, the price scanned incorrectly....I said screw it.

I started ordering from Grocery Gateway and love it. When I am out and about for groceries, I will only go to Longo's. Best part.....fresh produce and they pack your bags :D

shopped there since opened - rarely had any problem with produce.

Produce problems happen every where - it's not something the store can control. There's not a single store that have ALL their product top notch - Really don't care what anyone has to say, I've experienced it from all of them.

Narrow isles that are way way too long.

If the selection at Walmart was a bit better I would happily do all my shopping there. Much cheaper for name brand products, no rotten meat or produce, clean, and they bag your groceries ... in bags.

Rarely go to superstore anymore but was there the other day.

The new layout sucks but what would you expect from those clowns.

For better service, just go into the customer service desk and tell them you drive a hybrid car. They will fall all over themselves in appreciation and offer to push you around the store in a custom cart.
