My butt has asked me to go to the gym. I know its been discussed before but now that xmas has passed and the New Years Resolution are being done, how busy is Goodlife Fitness (womens only on Main). Are classes full, do you have to get there early? Wait time for machines? Anywhere else that people go and are happy with?

Hey SettlingIn,

Would you mind giving me an idea on how much you spend per year for your goodlife membership along with the personal trainer costs?

I usually go Mon/Wed/Fri evenings around 5:30. Mondays seem to be quite busy and you may have to wait 5 minutes or so for a treadmill once in a while. Other wise I have not had any problems. I do not take the classes but I have not heard anyone complain about not taking the class they wanted.

Settling in, would you leave a baby in the daycare? My son is two months old and I'm trying to decide if I would leave him in the daycare.

I just joined. They do their memberships differenlty know, no initial fee but bigger monthly payments. For use at the Womens Goodlife in Milton only it is no first and last but 24.95 by weekly. For 29.95 by weekly you can have use to all Goodlife's. i also got a 100 sport check gift certificate. Anyone know the prices of the other gyms around town..or maybe I don't want to know as I already signed with Goodlife.

Thanks SettlingIn. I was hoping to leave him there during a nap and just do a quick 30-45 minutes, so I'm not worried about stimulation. If I want to go longer or do a class, I'd just drive to Meadowvale and leave him at my mum's house. I'm still unsure about leaving him with a stranger though.

Hmmm, it looks like I'm going to have to join a gym in town, and choose Goodlife as the candidate considering Premier likes to steal peoples' money, and PUR is in the middle of no-man's land in Milton.

Does the Milton location have a free-weight power rack for doing barbell squats? If anyone can answer, feel free to, or maybe I'll have to go for one of their free tours (which I'd rather not, because then they use pressure tactics to sell or try to get your address).

There is a Smith machine and a squat rack.

Good life in town is a good group... I have done work for them and Ken (the owner) is a great guy.... Milton is one of, if not the only, locally run goodlife so they are worth supporting.

Thanks Marc. Is it an open-concept shower facility in the men's changeroom there, or individual stalls? Is it clean in there? I was reading that the ladie's change rooms were under renovations recently.

The entire facility is under renovations right now. The men's change room just got new showers and washrooms. They have also knocked down some walls and moved offices to make the workout area larger. Its been a pain the last couple of months but i've been told it should be complete by the end of the month.

$60 a month!!! Outrageous! lol

I had a membership through my work, and I paid $6.25/week ($25/month). Got taken right off of my paycheck too. Too bad I never went. lol

That's exactly what I am going to do by the end of the month. I'm gonna waltz in, sweet talk them a bit, and offer $300 for a year, cash. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Are all the renovations done now? What are members' impressions of the refreshened facility?
