Anyone know if they are planning on expanding Britannia to 2 lanes?

Construction is already under way for "South Hawthorne Village" which is right on Britannia. With hundreds/thousands of new homes being built right off Britannia, the road is going to be packed.

Yes.

Environmental Assessment was completed in the spring.
Contruction I believe is supposed to start next year on the section from Tremaine to Hwy 25. Can't be bothered to try and navigate regional council minutes to find that detail.

It's not "Hawthorne Village South" it's Boyne.

Any chance they will build roundabouts instead of traffic lights?

No way for roundabouts. They are cheaper to build and are super efficient.

Lobby your Regional Councillors :)
The EA has one at Britannia with makes total sense because of the road alignment. I'm not sure there is enough land in the right of way the region owns for other intersections but I agree they make sense. Hence lobbying your Regional Councillors :-).

Yes! Thank goodness all those commuters to the Velodrome will have four lanes! Oh, you commute east to Mississauga/Toronto/the rest of civilization? SOL buddy!

That would be great. We need more of those where they can be put.
