FYI,
Spotted a pair of large one's prowling the riverside on Bronte between Derry and Louis St. Laurent Sunday pm. Hopefully they're getting their fill of ducks and geese and not your freindly neighborhood cats!

Also saw one in a field at Tremaine & Brittania on Friday.

When developers take away their homes, they have nowhere else to go. We'll have to learn to share our town with the wildlife.

Let me know how that adopted Coyote works out for you. I'm still trying to get these racoons housetrained. It's a bitch.

Our home backs onto the ravine/woods on the corner of Ontario & Derry Rd.
During the winter months we hear the coyotes everyday, sounds like several of them.
Every time a police car or ambulance siren passes by on Derry Rd they start howling & mimicking the siren.
I saw 3 of them pass by along the path that leads to Winn Park, they were a good size & looked right at me (in the window) & continued on.
Pretty freaky !

For the record... coyotes are not native to Ontario. They have migrated here from the west and have learned to thrive in urban and suburban territory.

So did my cousin Bill. I don’t see why that means Bill, or Coyotes, shouldn’t be allowed to own real estate.

Was confronted by one crossing Clark @ 4th Line, very early this morning, using the walking paths. When he spotted me, he turned and came straight at me. Using the "make bigger", "walk backwards" and "make noise" routine, he stopped in his tracks about 50 ft. away. Turned around and was joined by a mate. Both then casually trotted down the walking path and disappeared. This path is used by kids and adults alike. This spotting/confrontation was my third at the same spot in the last 6 months. Always around 5 or 6 am.

Beautiful animals, but please stay away from me.

Ugh, a mother raccoon left a seedy steamer on the top of our fence this summer. So lovely
