I currently have roman shades and I want to replace them. I'm interested in getting shutters done in my bedroom and ensuite. I have a bow window (5 windows) in my room and just a standard one in the ensuite. Can anyone refer someone who has great prices? |

http://www.starscustomshutters.com/ Not sure if they offer vinyl shutters, we have had our shutters for over 4 years without any issues. They were considerably less than other companies we checked with. Hope this helps. |

If by "great prices" you mean low or lowest, I think you might not be happy with the complicated installation you describe. I think you should meet with some people to have them measure and talk about what they can do on a bow window. We had Eclipse done by A Designers Touch for ours (flat openings, not bay or bow), and found Tony to be great to deal with, the best part of the deal. Their pricing was only slightly more than HD's offer. I can't remember their brand, although I think it was part of the Hunter-Douglas group, as many are now. |

We ordered ours directly from VinylTek in Brampton. They supply to all the businesses listed above. We found a considerable cost savings compared to quotes from KC and Stars. Let me know if you'd like a contact name. |

I have both Eclipse and kc blinds and shutters in my home. My ground floor has eclipse shutters, I love them however I wish I did the cheaper ones throughout my house, aside from the bar (which is at the back left of the KC shutter) they are no different from eclipse. You don't see the bar because the window pane hides it and kc blinds is half the price!! I could have done my whole house with kc with what I paid for the eclipse. It al depends on how much the bar bothers you or not... |

I've had wood shutters in my whole house for 5 years from Star and they are still looking and functioning like new. |

Sorry to hijack the thread (Bu tat least it's not a derailment)... P&A: Do you know if VinylTek does repairs? I damaged a louvre in one of our shutters. WAY out of warranty at this point. My DIY fixes have not worked out. |

What do you need repaired? They gave me a ziploc bad full of all the little fasteners to repair louvers, is that what you need? |

+1 for KC Blinds! I got them through my house and I was very impressed with the product. They look great, work great and very cheap in comparison to other companies with same or similar products. |
