Do any of you guys buy your produce or meats and vegetables from whole foods. People say they are over priced but you pay for quality right?

I go there more in the summer to buy their fresh pre-mixed burgers and seafood to BBQ, certain fruits, Greek Gods brand Greek yogurt, and their yummy cookies, but unfortunately it is more expensive there, yes. It's an elitist kind of place, but I enjoy admiring the nice cars in the parking lot. If you are price-conscious but want to eat well, I say shop there occasionally, but not every weekend.

I go there once a month to stock up on meats, chicken, sausages, etc. The quality of their products can't be beat. Slightly more expensive than shopping at Longo's but not dramatically more. Try it out, expect to spend over an hour there as they have a great selection. My personal favorite is their cheese area, mmmmmmmmm! Also, definitely go to the Oakville location. The one at Square One is no where near as good.

I use to go there occasionally when I lived in SW Mississauga but I felt I had to remortgage my house everytime I cashed out.

Was talking about this today with another couple that has some dietary restrictions due to allergies. They prefer Organic Garage in Oakville. Better prices, great quality and a good selection.

Organic Garage is great value.

Ha ha, I hear you, I agree. Great foods though, nice shopping experience, excellent clientele, and even their paper handle bags feel upscale. An occasional visit only is best for us middle-class wage earners who keep getting squeezed.

I have never been to Organic Garage, but I know that poorly-maintained plaza very well. If anyone goes there, try the food at Ranee's Roti. Excellent West Indian food, and I always make a stop there if I'm in the area.

My friends call it Whole Paycheck.

It’s a cool place. I love the ready-made stuff they have. The quality of the food is the best you will find, but really the place is an absolute rip off designed for people with more money then they know what to do with. It might be the best food, but it’s not that much better then what you can find elsewhere. I don’t buy into the “pesticides will kill you” view of things, so others may value the organic label more then I do.

The exception to the rule, organic chicken, is by far a superior product compared to the usual stuff. I don’t know what they hell they do to chicken these days, but it’s all crap compared to organic. Especially chicken breasts. They taste fake.

+1 for Organice Garage. Similar product, less selection but cheaper. I like their meats as they seem to source from more local farms then Whole Foods. Whole Foods mainly has Beretta branded meats. Beretta is good but very pricey. Although Whole Foods hot tables for lunch are awesome in Oakville.

+1 Ranee's Roti. Is it still cash only?

+1 for Renee's. Really nice owner. They expanded and are open more days now. I think they are still cash though. Best Goat roti I have ever tasted. Slow cooked for a day and melt in your mouth. I grew up in south Sauga and frequented the West Indian places there often. Renee's is the best that I have tasted. The Milton roti shop is not to my liking so I always drive the extra miles to Renee's when craving. I could of sworn that she mentioned to my wife she was related to one of the owners from one of the Mississauga famous roti shops.
