My Terminator has IRS, but there is a ridiculous amount of power being fed to it. I'm not a purist, but the race and track time camps will say solid rear axles hook up better, and that the IRS from my generation could get away from you and break apart if you kept feeding it power after it gets sloppy. But we're talking full hard launches where the wheels will start to hop, and you tear apart the differential - just too much power. There are things you can to stabilize it, but at that point, someone who cares that much is probably swapping in the solid rear.

What's too much power? 454RWHP and 504RWTQ so that's roughly 525hp 580tq at the crank - lots of go go juice  And there are guys doing much higher numbers than that. Want an interesting read on this car, read Iron Fist Lead Foot.

That said, guys who've had both will take the IRS all day long when it comes to being off the track.

'99-'03 Cobras have the same IRS setup, so it's been around for a while. I guess it depends on the purist. Racers tend to pull it and go with a 9". There are plenty of used IRS setups around for sale if any of you guys are interested. Same carrier as the Explorer iir.

As you may tell by the username, I have a Mustang. I am on the GTAMC board, GT40_Sally is my username there, below is my '87 Fox currently sitting in the garage waiting for the warm weather! Also going to be doing a T-5 or T-56 swap this spring/summer…

Will definitely be up for some meet ups, and will also need some hands doing the swap!

That's a beautiful Fox. Fox bodies are my first true Mustang Love. Just don't have the time to find one and fix it up right now. I'm on GTAMC under username Sterlinghorsegt. Instagram as well under the same name. Do you gus attend the Milton Cruise Nights with your stangs? I was only able to make it to 1 last year.

We should set up a Hawthorne Villager car meet at some point this summer. Put some faces to the names around here, and talk cars!
