Contrast this with cup-winning goalies and there could be cause for concern. My spreadsheet tells me so.
Crawford - .914 reg / .924 playoffs
Quick - .915 reg / .929 playoffs
Thomas - .920 reg / .933 playoffs

Niemi - .916 reg / .909 playoffs
Fleury - .910 reg / .903 playoffs

Osgood - .905 reg / .916 playoffs

So it's possible to win championships with goaltending that's not as good as the regular season, but it's rare - and it's never happened with sub-.900 goaltending.

What are you talking about???
Half the stats you posted are wrong (source???)
And lots of goalies win cups with sub-.900 save pct (even just as a guess I looked and Fuhr easily fits that bill since edmonton was never built for d)
.883 spct & only 2 losses in 1988 as example

Agreed, this is his chance to prove himself. Fingers crossed that he does well. He has it in him, as we've seen in the past. The playoffs, though, is another beat entirely!!

But he pulls out Grant f****** Fuhr from the 1980's to disprove me.... yeah - because NOTHING has changed since then.

Decades come and go & Leafs stay the same
Ok less famous goalies, take Pieterangelo, Barrasso, even Hap Holmes (he was a Leaf BTW who had a horrible GAA but played behind a very potent offence)
Even Mike Vernon has 2 cups & .896 career (from 1997 Detroit even so pretty modern for you). If Jersey trap hadn't killed them in 1995 he would have won a 3rd cup with a .889 pct & 86 run was pretty ugly

Your argument now is all stats before which year are suddenly irrelevant for your sweeping factually incorrect assumptions?

Great game. Tampa definitely woke up this time around. Price looked solid, too bad he couldn't hang on for the shutout.

Things are looking good heading into game 3-4 at home!

GO HABS GO!

On this day 47 years ago, your beloved losers won for the last time.

A tear came to my eye when I asked my wife (who isn't a Habs fan) to name as many Canadiens players as possible. She named 7!! A proud day in my household.

Go Habs Go! Carey Price FTW.

Just cos I cannot recite all the Habs players names to your satisfaction, doesn't mean I'm not entitled to be happy that they won last nite and they kicked TBL's butt. But hey, if you think that knowing the names of every single Leafs player and the size of their penis' is important or that they may one day, in anyone's lifetime, win the Stanley Cup again....
