How close to the school, is close? If it was indeed "close to the school" then the person who seen the sighting should report it to the MNR |

Not that it means anything, but only one? Not worth mentioning. A friend of mine whose farm is within sight of the Metro store sees packs of 15 at a time. We are a little farther south so the packs are smaller, we only see around 10 or so. |

It was actually on the school premises. My children go to the school and I received an email notification of the incident. |

The coyote was seen crossing on the school yard at 8:10am this morning, and continued onto the park trail. Nobody came in contact with the coyote. Staff were on high alert for any other sightings. My neighbour almost hit another coyote early this morning at Britannia and 25, as one tried to cross the road. He regularly sees packs of coyotes in that area, which happens to be near the residential area, in the open farmer's field. It has been a long, cold winter and they will travel into the city to find garbage left outside. Also, if you live west of Yates and Thompson, you will have noticed a substantial decrease in raccoons, with the increasing population of coyotes. Don't leave garbage outside, and obviously call 911 if you see a coyote pose an immediate threat to public safety. |

My daughter is in kindergarten at Our Lady of Fatima. The school sent a letter home saying that they coyote was in the play ground area and the kids were taken inside. |

We are a little farther south so the packs are smaller, we only see around 10 or so. Coyotes often travel in small groups of 2 We have 2 that live in the field behind our house, they cross threw our yard all the time We rarely see them but, have had a few sightings of them. (they are around all the time, they leave their prints in the snow) They have a den in the caves behind our house, but they do keep to themselves for the most part They are generally not a concern for humans, they will kill small game like squirrels and mice But it is now spring this means mamma is nesting, and pups will be or already has been born. Once this happens these little guy will become more aggressive to protect their pups This maybe why the coyote was out today, they also are most active at dusk and dawn But I have seen out in all hours of the day If a child wonders near their den, there is a possibility of danger. I have seen some children walk unaccompanied to school via walking trails such as the ones behind the school Someone should check to be sure the MNR has been called They will trap the coyote and look for his den to be sure there are no pups in it. If I was a parent at that school I would follow up with this coyote indecent, to be sure it was trapped and removed |

Yes they did say teachers were checking school grounds before allowing the kids out for breaks and lunch. I will still remind my children to stay away from them. |

If not, consider this an ask. It's kind of weird. Like you are instant messaging instead of composing a post. It also reads funny. Also, why do some sentence get a period and others don't? Not trying to make fun of you or anything, just curious. Okay, maybe a little teasing. Can you forgive me? |
