I rec'ed my bill this morning and noted that my gas use over the past month had been much, much higher than normal. I actually used 2.5 times the gas during this period compared to the same period last year. Indeed the average temp outside was 4 degrees cooler but this use floored me.

Has anybody else experienced such a swing last month?

Thanks

Nope, last year I believe I was at 9.1 and this year was 9.2. Two and a half times seems like a huge increase. Is there any way to verify that with the gas Co? Where you in the same house last year?

exactly the same house and appliances. My Gas bill was nearly $450. I will have to call the gas co. but it seems unreal.

I get fluctuations like this often.....if you have been using your gas fireplace on these colder nights/days/evenings we were having during that period, that would EASILY double your gas bill....you can literally watch your money burn in your fireplace as it is on....quite expensive to run.
Good Luck....now I know I'm not going to get my mail this afternoon...as I know I'm going to have a good one too.. haha

Just got my bill
FEb 5th to March 8 for a Thistle Bay 2230Sqft was 16.3 cubic meters a day. The tempa verage this month was -8 , last month was -6 and my usage was down to 14.7.

I suspect they got a bad meter reading from you.

Matt

My last bill was 13.5, and this month, it's 14.9. My house is a bit smaller than yours, but I like it a bit toasty, and presume it's normal.
