My name is Lucky and I am almost 7 years old I have been living with my family for 6 years. I was really weak and small and I suffered from malnutrition when I was rescued by the humane society. She brought me home from a cage.
Even though my Mum loves me a lot she has to let me go as my sister who I love the most has become allergic to cats and she is getting sick a lot because of me.
I dont want my family to send me back to the humane society. If anyone wants to give me a home to live in I promise I will be a good boy. I wont trouble you. When my family adopted me I was already neutered but my family is so caring that they never declawed me and I don't ever want to be declawed. I am been a good boy and never scratched a sofa or the carpet. Although I hate it, but my mommy clips my nails every month. I have my own scratching post and I only sleep on my bed and when I have to go I always use my litter box and I don't like it if anyone is looking. I am an indoor cat.
Please help me find a loving home as soon as possible. Mommy cant keep me for too long.. :(

Cute cat. How much does it cost to feed him? He looks, um, healthy.

Same thing happened when I was a kid. Developed an allergy after we got a cat and had to give it away. Good luck.

Lolzz yes he is bit healthy..my Garfield baby!!
His litter, dry food and wet food all together approx $50 a month. He only eats Royal Canin and Pro-plan.. I give him wet food only on the weekends and I think he waits for the weekends more than we do.
I usually buy Arm & Hammer litter but whatever is cheaper or on sale.
I hope I find a family for him soon other wise I will have to give him to humane society as specialist told us that my daughter's eye Conjunctivitis is causing scras on back of her cornea :(

Try contacting Toronto Cat Rescue. They may be able to help you, but it usually means housing the cat until a suitable home can be found.

Try contacting Ninth Life Cat Rescue. They might be able to help. They display their cats at some Pet Food stores in Oakville/Mississauga.

I spoke to humane society in Oakville. Most likely they will put him to sleep cause apparently no one wants a mature cat who is already 7 or years old. I am never adopting a pet again and will never recommend anyone for adoption. My heart breaks every time I see him :(

Not true. I have adopted 2 cats from Oakville Humane Society. One was 12 and the other 8 yrs old. Who told you that? You could always take him to Burlington. From what I understand they are a no kill facility.

There is a place in Milton called The Milton Animal Sanctuary. They are a non-profit organization. They take in strays, abused animals and animals from owners that can no longer care for them. Their number is 905-876-2844 or masanctuary@cogeco.ca. Get in touch with them.

Just checked. Burlington does euthanize; Oakville does not. Don't take him to Burlington.

Sent an email to Milton Animal Sanctuary which bounced back. tried calling the above number its not assigned so I bashed and vented on their FB page. Its driving me crazy. Ninth line cat rescue didn't get back to me even though I sent them 2 emails. I can just drive to Burlington or Oakville and drop him off but I want to make sure they know his eating sleeping habits, his food and his nature so it will be easier for the people who adopt him.
Oakville humane society are telling me that they are currently at maximum capacity of animals they can house in the shelter and they have a waitlist to take pets in. And I have to be on the waitlist which can take about month or more and still they don't guarantee that they wont put him to sleep :(
I have always donate to humane society and cat rescue organizations guess what no more donations for these people cause it seems like all these non-profit organizations are there only to sell their cats in the name of adoption and no one is interested to take him :(

Well, I guess when they adopt out animals, they are hoping it's a forever home. Unfortunately there are many irresponsible pet owners, so shelters are full. There are more unwanted pets than there are available homes, so they often ask owner surrenders to hang onto their pet until a suitable home can be found. Some rescues even charge a fee to help re-home an animal.
I think bashing a volunteer organization on a website is unfair. These people are on the front lines and give their time and energy to help animals in need. Perhaps the lone person running the Milton Animal Sanctuary is on a well deserved vacation or has a sick relative or something else going on. Most of these rescues are volunteer run, and even state on their websites that it takes time to return calls/emails. You clearly have no idea what it's like to be on the rescuing side for these people and expect your cat to be placed in higher priority than the hundreds of cats they get calls about. We provided a foster home for dogs for a number of years and I can say first hand that it can be very emotionally draining. There are tons of great dogs euthanized because there aren't enough homes. I think the problem is 1000x worse for cats. So instead of making your problem a chance to trash the people who give their days and nights to save the animals they can, maybe take a step back and realize it's not personal. If you can't hang onto your cat and can't find it a suitable home, then take it to a shelter and run the chances of it being euthanized. That's the harsh reality for unwanted pets.

I've been following this thread and have been reluctant to post but here goes.

My son was diagnosed with asthma at age one, and shortly after he was tested for allergies. He is allergic to most things under the sun, including cats. I have two cats. My son is six now, and we have found a successful way to keep our kitties and manage my sons allergies and asthma. I could not bear the thought of re-homing my cats and taking them away from the great life we give them. It can be done, with a little work and a little cost, it can work. I'm so tired of animals being dropped off left right and center, and I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but with a little research and perseverance, your kitty can stay.
