Milton CogecoTV video taped most of the election candidates giving short 5 minute speaches and then they've been airing them on the local CogecoTV channel.

Has anyone seen them? What do you think?

We don't get cogeco, and they haven't put it online, so I haven't had a chance to see my own or the other candidates. They video-tape it live and don't let you do editing, they allow one "do over" where they record over your first tape but then you take the risk if you flub the second one you can't go back to the first so you either take what you've done or lose your space.

The show will be airing on our TVCOGECO station, in HD on channel 700 and on channel 14 in Milton/Halton Hills as follows:

Sat, Oct 11, 2014 @ 3:00:00PM
Sun, Oct 12, 2014 @ 10:00:00AM
Mon, Oct 13, 2014 @ 2:00:00PM
Thu, Oct 16, 2014 @ 8:00:00PM
Sat, Oct 18, 2014 @ 3:00:00PM
Sun, Oct 19, 2014 @ 2:30:00PM
Tue, Oct 21, 2014 @ 10:00:00AM
Wed, Oct 22, 2014 @ 2:00:00PM
Anyone watch them? What do you think? Partially scared to ask as public speaking isn't exactly my strong point. I have a friend who is going to use his DSLR Camera and point it at the TV screen and basically record it so later I can see it. Would be great if Cogeco would post them online, but we asked and they basically said no they don't do that. They do this as a courtesy to cogeco subscribers so basically if your not a subsciber and can't PVR it you can't really watch them.

As part of a program to improve voter turnout, why couldn't the town tape 5 min. bits and put up links on the town website? Shouldn't be too difficult or expensive.

COGECO is shooting themselves in the foot by not posting them. I have not seen any of them. I'd like to, but they don't seem to be on any time I actually have time to watch anything. I'm sure I'm not the only one in that boat so really it's a waste of tape and time.

I'd suggest the speech makers read up Winston Churchills book "Age of Revolution"
specifically the part where John Wilkes marches at the head of a London crowd demanding the
right to the vote.

They are now on Cogeco-on-Demand.

Glocklover. You can watch your porn and when you get bored, watch the candidates. You'll get a good laugh out of some of them which will perk you back up!!

Yes, I found a listing for the election series, under "Channels on Demand" > "TV Cogeco" > "Behind the Ballot". But I see a few gaps in their content. The only communities that are listed are Bracebridge, Cobourg, Huntsville and Port Hope.

Conspicuously absent: Milton.

Anyone else have any better content? What a joke Cogeco, why would you (dis)allow this? Fishy.

Milton was there. I watched all the candidates that bothered to record videos.

Where'd it go then? Is it still there? I presume this is an included service with all levels of subscription?

What the hell, Cogeco.
