Check out "The Centre for Skills Development & Training" http://thecentre.on.ca/. I've been there a couple of times for resume help myself and found them pretty helpful. They also might have job listings you might not find other places, and do mock interviews as well.

Also check out the Milton Public Library's website; I think they might have someone that comes in every so often.

It will greatly depend on the field you're on. The Center will help you with the formatting and proper use of English (if that's an issue) but the best resource would be people that work in that particular field. They know the terminology, the skill sets to emphasis and the buzz words the recruiters are looking for. Today most resumes go through a computer program that classifies them based on key words as per job description being filled and a human will only look at top matches.

CompassLaura is correct, The Centre should be one of the first places to go.

Also, if you are truly having an issue, go to an employer you know with the resume you've created and ask them to look it over. Most employers will take the time to help people looking for work to do better in their search.

We've all been there. Whether you're newly looking for work, or if you've been out of looking for years. It's good to have a new person looking at it.
