I apologize if this has been posted before and for my rant but:

The road HAS to be fixed. From Brittania up to HV, this road is quite dangerous and difficult to drive on. Unfortunately, its a road i need to drive on every day to work.

Are there any plans to fix it?

I think it is going to get re-paved soon, but I don't think there are plans to widen it. I think the plan is to have most of the traffic re-direct to James Snow when it's ready.
I would hope so. We don't need "mini highways" everywhere.

Thanks daycaremom
Yes 4th line will be patched later in the spring once the frost is out of the ground but the design is to remain a local two lane road with no reconstruction planned for the next 9 years.

James Snow Parkway is scheduled to open south of Derry Road connecting with Clark Blvd. and Louis St. laurent later this summer with the region working on completing the parkway south of Louis St. laurent to a new intersection with stop lights at Britannia road which will take the majority of the traffic off 4th line.

Any plans for the Britannia Rd. to Louis St. laurent section of 4th line are dependent on the secondary plans for the Boyne Survey which is Phase 3 of the Town's expansion scheduled to start after 2011 which will include public meetings on the road designs and other features. Will keep everyone posted on when these meetings will happen.

Also Regional Council last week gave approval for the reconstruction of Trafalgar road from #401 to Britannia Road for 4 lanes including an overpass over the CP rail line should be completed later in 2008.

Colin, patched or resurfaced? Patched won't do much good in my opinion.

Vic and Laura - I know what you mean with the new tire. When we first moved in, my kids had the paper route for the whole subdivision. There were 130 papers to deliver, so we had to drive them around. After seven flat tires from nails on the roads, we thought it would be cheaper to pay the kids to stay home. At least those days are over and we can get around the subdivision without driving on nails!

Hi everyone
Checked with Paul Cripps the Town Engineer today. Fourth Line is to be resurfaced later this year through a pulverizing process which recycles the pavement with new material for a better surface from Louis St. laurent to Britannia.

We hit a big chunk of pavement last Sunday night on Fourth Line and had to get a new tire. It was a pain in the butt.
