Was on the Pan Am Games site and found this information. Venue parking is not at the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome – it is off-site at the Milton Sports Centre Louis St. Laurent Avenue west of Tremaine Road, and Pan Am Boulevard will be closed to spectator traffic. So much for driving down to the Venue. So inconvenient. I don't get it really. There is so much open fields - land. Couldn't we just park on the grass. |

This is a park and ride venue. Parking will be available at the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Boulevard, Milton). A shuttle from the centre will transport spectators from the parking lot to the venue. The shuttle will be accessible. Accessible parking will also be available at the Milton Sports Centre. Accessible parking spaces must be booked in advance (check back here in spring 2015 to book your accessible parking space). Check back here in spring 2015 to use the interactive auto trip planner — your best tool to plan your Games journey. |

Why did they upgrade 25 and LSL to a 4 lane super road if no one can drive and park at the Velodrome??? |

Sounds like the pretty looking exterior won't be done on time to accommodate, you know... people and cars. That would be the only reason I can think of. |

Hmmm. So if that's the case. Where do we park for the open house next month? |

The area surrounding the velodrome will be used for parking of the tv equipment, athletes etc and not for the general public. The parking during the games will be at the Milton Sports Centre and buses used to drive people to the games events. As for the widening of the surrounding roads, thats been done to handle the 55,000 plus new residents that will be moving into the Boyne Survey over the next several years. These roads were planned long before we knew the Velodrome was going to be there. |

This is the stupidest thing I have heard for a long time. A large facility with no parking. Now that takes the cake ( whatever that means. ) |

AFTER the games, you will be able to park at the facility. Its only during the games that buses will shuttle visitors to the games events. If we didnt have the shuttle service during the games, people would be complaining theres too much traffic in the area. There will be huge TV trucks, staff for the events during the Pan Am games that will take up most of the parking at the Velodrome. Just for the games, then it will be normal parking situations. Thanks for posting this. Reminded me to look up the parking situation for these weekends Canadian Track Nationals. I am going to go on Sunday afternoon to watch. Will anyone else be there? |

I presume a similar arrangement will be made for the Open House. I really hope there is parking once this thing opens for business prior to PanAm games. I will start going regularly once I get re-certified on the 24th of Jan. I really don't plan on getting on a bus with my bike. http://www.toronto2015.org/CNC-MIC-test-event/ |

Will they section off a parking area for those that have to go to the MSC during those days? That is a facility that is used in the summer. Those parents who have their kids in day camp there will probably have pitchforks and torches for the first Town of Milton representative/politician they find otherwise. LOL |

Now that takes the cake ( whatever that means. ) So what about the traffic around the Milton Sports Center, how will congestion be managed? Remember what a pain it was when Derry was closed off due to the bridge work around Derry and Bronte and how people were suck for 1 to 2 hours in traffic? Tremaine is completely out of the populated areas of town, so having it clogged with traffic would likely not have impacted residents as much as major traffic congestion on all in town road arteries. Ideally, I kind of thought that the "parking on the fields" option with temporary gravelled parking would have been done and, the 401 opened up at Tremaine for north traffic with Tremaine to Bronte route for south traffic. That and shuttles to/from the Milton GO would have made more sense to me in order to spare residents of having to battle traffic chaos, would it not? |
