Hi everyone,

My name is Jack and I'm fairly new to Milton (just about 1.5 years) and new to this forum. Seems like a great place for all kinds of local information!

Does anybody know what is in the plans to be built on the southwest side of Main Street and Tremaine? More houses or maybe some kind of commercial development?

Many thanks,
Jack

I thought it was supposed to be a car wash/gas station.

I thought it was owned by the Durante Group.

THat was so long ago I remember hearing about it. Weird this stuff takes eons to happen. Still no close gas station save the Petro on Bronte is wack for the west side.

Hi there,
Owned by Duraland Properties, current rezoning proposal is on file:

Quote:
"Proposal: The application is to rezone a 1.21 ha vacant block of Local Commercial (C3) land to a site-specific Local Commercial Zone (C3*_) in order to permit additional permitted uses on the subject lands and the development of a commercial/retail plaza. These proposed uses include a motor vehicle gas bar, motor vehicle washing establishment (i.e. car wash) , drive-through service facility associated with gas bar and drive-through service facility associated with motor vehicle washing establishment and retail propane facility. Accordingly, the applicant is also requesting site specific zone standards for the proposed development."

Likelihood is that yes, Gas station with car wash would be the plan - I'm waiting for updates on this myself :)

Thank you all,
My wife and I were considering a house in that area that currently backs onto empty land and wanted to know what would possibly be built there. Although a gas station/car wash is much needed in this end of town Im not sure Id want my backyard backing onto it..
Thanks again,
Jack

I wouldn't either. Hopefully they find someone that assumes it will be something else vs. researching as you did.

The petro at thompson and derry has like 20 ft tall fences.. now, at least its wood, and not cement..
