Hi Guys,
Has anyone used an installation company locally in putting in one of these kitchens? We are looking for design and install services and are not sure if we should just unquestioningly go with the one IKEA recommends (Peg Corporation)... hope someone can help!

IKEA kitchens are just as easy to "install" as their furniture. Try assembling some of the cabinets yourself and see how far you get, you'll probably find yourself continuing on until you're done. Their kitchen design tool on their website is also great, it provides you with a parts list that you just hand in to the parts desk but make sure that's the first thing you do when you walk in... it takes them about an hour to gather all the pieces you need.

Putting together the cabinet are like putting together any other Ikea furniture. Hanging them are as easy as hanging a level rail and sliding them on. Took 4 of us 4 hours total include demoing of the old kitchen. We made it a family event when we put together our parents kitchen. Complicated part can be doing the plumbing and moving any electrical if you have no experience with that.

Good thing about Ikea, is wait for your Kitchen event. I believe you can get up to a $250 gift card if you buy they appliances. Which can then pay for the upgrade knobs and handles you want. :)

Circling back on this in case anyone else ever searches for an IKEA installer... although we had great advice here that we could do it ourselves, we decided to have someone install for us and are so glad we did... Alexander came in and did it for us for a really competitive price and was able to make several custom modifications on the fly in order to improve or fix what IKEA had sold us. Some of the pieces they gave us made no sense (perhaps they were so swamped during the kitchen event that they were missing details) even though we used their kitchen designer (came to our house to measure/design).
Alexander made sure everything was perfectly lined up and functional, and gave us great advice. Overall he was a wonderful guest in our home for the two day install and the kitchen is perfect!
