Hero Burger was closed yesterday with windows covered and doors locked. No signs or notices ...so are they closing?

I noticed the same -- guessing they're gone.

Renovations is code for out of business but I don't want to admit it....who needs more pricey burgers anyway? Go to Symposium on Monday nights and get a decent burger and a beer for $4 each!

Burgers were mediocre at best, price was stupid and service was aweful. Good riddance.

Hero Burger is a disaster, particularly the Milton location. I've never had a great experience.

5 years ago I went to Hero burger in Milton before we moved here. It was 9:45, they closed at 10. I was asked if I wanted the order "for here or to go". Since I was on my way back to Mississauga afterwards, I decided to eat there. 5 minutes later when my food was ready, the cashier said, "I will just make that to go, ok?"

I said, "I don't live close and have to drive 30 min home so as I said, I'll eat here"

"Yeah but we will close soon so I will just give it to you to go"

The cook pokes his head up and says, we still need to lock the doors and clean up for the next 30 minutes, there is no problem if he eats here. He prepares my food on a tray and hands it to cashier through window, who took everything off the tray and put it in a take out bag and plopped it down in front of me. Rude piece of sh*t kid. As I left he locked the door and then subsequently let all his buddies in. I emailed the manager with the kids name...did not get a response. I vowed never to eat there again.

About 2 weeks ago I was in there with a friend who was buying something and told this story to him (this was the first time I had been in there since). And the lady working there overheard my story and said not to worry. They are under "new management". By the end of our conversation I discovered that this was in fact the third time this location is under new management. So if it is closed, I am not surprised in the least.

I'm not surprised either. The Milton location is run by a bunch of turkeys (or was when I went there)
I go to the Oakville & Burlington locations and the people there are way better.

I went to the Milton location with my wife once when they had a shake sale. They sent out a coupon the day before valentines day, and put on it it expires on valentines day. So we got it at 4pm and went the day before valentines day -- it didn't say active from date x to y, it just had an expiry date. They refused to honour it. They called the boss and he said no. F them, we didn't want to give them any of our business, drive to Oakville and they were cool.

Really, drive 20 minutes to save $3? Ya, but we were spending another $30 with kids and our meals and I didn't want to give those f's a dime.

My only experiences in there were to play the role of "Hungry guy with time issues who stands in an unmoving line long enough to say screw this, and leaves". Three separate occasions, spanning about 4 years. The ineups made it look like the food was worth a wait, but I always bailed out. They always appeared to be chronically understaffed.

I’ve gone in there 3-4 times and always had a good experience. Staff was always friendly to me.

I believe they just got a new owner recently, not sure how it works but I do know it's under new management (the Milton location one). Could be renovations because of that? Can't believe that so shortly after changing management they'd close down so it's probably as someone mentioned - renovations

They should just burn it down and put on a Five Guys.

Or a Fire Pit. I don't know why anyone would eat at Hero a 2nd time.

+1 for Five Guys... but I feel like we should support the Canadian businesses...

I didn't care for Holy Chuck when I went to the one in Vaughn. Or Burger's Preist for that matter. I never got the Hype. And The Works is pretty terrible all around.

I know Five Guys is a big american chain, but they do a pretty good job of a no-nonsense flat top burger and I've never been disappointed. And I am sort of sick of everyone trying to one up the next place with EVEN MORE outrageous toppings and flavours.
