So with all the crazy cool/warm then back to cold again our sub pump was backed up when it tried to expell water the the outside hose was frozen. After a lot of smoke we've decided we need a new sub pump. We know we are going to invest in another pedestal style like Mattamy installed however we are have problems getting the cover off the floor. Any ideas? |

We had a similar problem with our sump pump when we first moved in. We found that in the winter/cold weather we would have to disconnect the hose on the outside of it as it would get frozen and back up. In the warm weather we used the hose. We have never had a problem since and that was over 4 years ago. Good luck! |

did either of you add extensions to your pipes or was it just the standard ones that Mattamy installed? Matt |

We bought a flexible hose type thing from Home Hardware. I believe it was actually called a sump pump kit and it did not cost much. |
