I know this topic might be a bit stupid......but.....
What kind of animals are common in Hawthorne Village?
birds, squirels/chipmunks (sp), etc...
Since the escarpment phase is near the escarpment, i guess we'll be getting alot of wildlife as visitors....anyone know what kind of animals are common on or near the escarpment?
I've noticed that there aren't any pigeons Milton!

Well,
we know that there is a racoon that comes on our street
(A huge one)
We almost hit a bunny yesterday driving home (clark/ferguson)
there are mice because we had to put mouse traps in our garage...
(don't want those in our house).
I have seen skunks and musk rats.

anything else?

I'm not near the escarpment, but have had a mother bunny rabbit have some babies in our backyard last year, and after the bunnies grew up and moved out some voles (look like mice and eat the grass but won't go in your house) moved in to the backyard. I have a bird feeder out and regularly have morning doves, chickadees, and the occasional robin drop in, and since squirrels are plentiful in the older parts of town where there are large trees, I've planted an oak tree to attract them (when it gets bigger).

In the old parts of town you would occasionally see the odd bat, although it's been many years since I last heard of one coming by, and now and then you could hear owls, although that may have been back when the farmland was within earshot, now that it's that much farther they may have been pushed back as well.

We are only a few minutes from HV and there are bats every summer evening around.

We can here the morning doves cooing every morning and don't forget the coyotes out there. You can here them at night and they have been spotted on Derry Road.

Speaking of trees, does anyone know what type of trees are planted on the streets (the ones planted by the town)? are they maple, oak etc...?

Here is at least one skunk near by the future plaza (14b) on Derry.
I saw it with my dog a week ago. He was going to check garbage at new townhouses.
