I heard it will be completed before the intermodal is built.

is it supposed to be finished before the Pan Am games start? According to this ticker, the games start in 59 days: http://www.toronto2015.org/venue/milton-velodrome
I'm voting it won't be done in time, but I'm no expert. Does the town get updates on estimated completion or if the work is meeting deadlines?

Region of Halton website says Summer 2015
http://www.halton.ca/cms/one.aspx?porta ... geId=89895

I'm sure the Region must get updates, but a search through the Region of Halton Council and Committee minutes using the search function with Derry Underpass and Derry Grade Seperation didn't yield anything useful (I'm not a big fan of the Region of Halton website). Would have to ask a Regional Councillor (either Colin Best or Mike Cluett), though the local ward councillor in Ward 8 (Zeeshan Hamid) should also be in the loop on timelines too.

Thanks Kim. I thought it was supposed to be done before the games (and the additional traffic they will bring). Should make for interesting rush hour congestion depending on the timing of events at the Velodrome.

Good points. I forgot about LSL being open. I wonder what the parking situation at the Sports Centre will be. I take my kids to gymnastics and swimming there and we're signed up throughout the summer. Probably a bad move in hindsight.

Not that it matters and I could be mistaken, but I think they are adding additional seating at the velodrome for the duration of the Pan AM games, so there will be a lot more than the regular grand stands that you normally see in the facility.

Haha, yeah. I wonder how bad moving within Milton is going to be on the week of the games :S

The place will seat about 2,500 during the games. I can not see it impacting our traffic during weekdays. During rush hours we might see a little more traffic, but I don't think it will be that noticeable.

Beside it take almost 10 minutes on a good day to get from the 401 to Sports centre. People will try lots of different routes which should lessen the impact as well.

Looks like its going to be "usable" any day now using one lane like the main street one.

I hope! Driving by this morning, it seemed like the underpass was still dirt - no asphalt or road yet.

Apparently there will be at least one more road closure for the underpass.
Don't know when but expect it soon (hopefully after school is done)

The plans are on the link below. The schedule states Summer 2013 – Summer 2015 which doesn't seem like it's happening! If you really wanted to find out you can email the project manager.

I hear it's expected to open mid-June. I assume that will only be one lane, both ways, at the beginning, just like the Main Street underpass.
