I'm currently with Bell on all three services was with Cogeco for tv before. Im paying over $200 for all 3 services.
What options are available?
I see people with the antenna, I was also looking at Netflix because I don't watch much TV, just Cnn and family for the kids.
For internet is anyone using Acanac?

Thanks for ur input

You could go with VOIP phone instead of a traditional land line. MagicJack is around $30 / yr once you already purchased the adapter. Other VOIP services could be around $10 / mo with free VOIP adapter.

Depending on how much data you consume on your internet, there are cheaper options. You could go with OTA for free TV. Just install an outdoor OTA antenna. I believe some channels could also be picked up using an internal antenna. Netflix is also a good option for watching movies.

Several years ago I switched from those big company. I still remember that time when my prom expired, the charge went to the roof. I called, tried to reduced and failed to do so, then decided to switch. Until that time the loyalty guy showed up gave me good deal with some duration(1 year), I said no and I have to loyal to my new provider. Now I am happy with everything.

1.Primus landline + internet (16)+ free international call = 60.00 after tax w/2 year service
2.free TV from antenna inside the attic = no cost (about 20 channels)
3. free foreign language channels from TV box(one time cost) plus you tube on roku(no need to use tablet & iapd since some member refuse to use these gadgets)

Never ever believer following B.S.

Only xxxx ( try not to mention that lovely name) give best service!

I am very happy ever since.

I wrote an article on this topic earlier in the year, here's the detail:
https://pnear.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/ ... 14-update/

Doesn't cover phone, but it does cover your options for TV. Personally I use:
- Attic Antenna with Tablo PVR
- Start internet
- Bell landline (still want that rock-solid 911 service for my kids)

You could use multiple TVs but you would need to use a signal amplifier. Once you use splitters to the coaxial line, it would attenuate the signal. These are OTA (Over The Air) channels. They are digital and HD channels. However, these channels are not premium channels. OTA antenna are quite cheap. You could get one for less than $30.

I think there's a list of OTA channels that could be picked up in Milton posted somewhere in the forum.

Okay, here:

OTA channels are also affected by the weather.

Where can I go to get antennas? I went to Save and Replay and saw one for about $100.00 which was good for the roof. Are there any other options for roof or attic?

Check:

http://worldwidesatellites.com/ota-over ... -c-35.html

You could also check walmart.ca website. There are some OTAs in there.

If I didn't watch sports I would cancel cable 100%

Think that's where a lot of people get hooked in because sport is life

Save and Replay provide good advice, worth a call or visit to their shop to get their thoughts.

Personally I'd recommend a DB4e with the VHF retrofit kit, which will be similar to what I have in my attic (although the DB4e is a newer-generation antenna than the one I have). Depending on length of cable and splits, you might also want a small pre-amplifier like the ClearStream Juice.

Live sports I agree is a limitation, although I just bought a year's subscription to MLB.TV for $50 and have been really happy with it for the Jays games this year. NFL has a similar option I believe, but there really is no comparing to cable for the breadth and depth of sports coverage.

I will be calling Bell later this week to do the annual battle with them to lower costs.

What are you Bell customers currently paying for a land line and internet? I've been jacked up to $120 tax in for Fibe5 Internet and the Home Phone Choice Package. (no long distance).

Unless you're getting a killer discount with bundling, I'd say ditch their home phone and go with a VOIP service like voip.ms. There is a cost up front, but my monthly bill is typically around $4.
Up front costs are:
- ~$60 for a Linksys/Cisco SPA112 ATA (there are others out there, but this is the one I have and know.) The ATA allows you to connect your analog home phones to a digital voip service.
- $10 to port an existing number over. If you don't care about keeping a number, even better.
- $25 initial deposit. voip.ms takes deposits up front with a $25 minimum.

Just to confirm costs, I generated an invoice that goes back to January 1st and I've spent $29.47 from Jan. 1st to July 27th for an average monthly cost of $4.21. Obviously, if you're a chatty person you'll spend more.

I have a pretty good deal with Bell. We normally cancel our TV service with Bell during the summer.. but this last time I guess I spoke to the right person.. LOL. Mind you everything I have is needed so it's not the same package as you. I am paying $175 tax in; 25/25 Fibe internet with unlimited bandwidth, Better Fibe TV package and Phone package with NA long distance.

What I found out was if you subscribe to all three services you can get individual discounts on each services, not just the bundle you can get with all three.

When we were with Bell, the billing was a nightmare. After whatever initial 6month pro they gave us, the price per month literally doubled. I decided to cancel and they worked out a better price for us. Since then, every month we were billed a completely different amount than discussed and I had to spend so much time on the phone every month trying to get each bill resolved.

Since moving this past week, we are going to give Start another go.

I'm going to give Start a try soon as well. Anyone know what the turn around time for switching from Bell to Start would be?
