Number of people ticketed can probably be counted on one hand
It makes the news usually when it does

Oh and love the comments from Futureshop employees, they sure did train them well

I think if cops start using drones for traffic enforcement, soft drugs, parking offences, jaywalking, many more people will start having an issue.

I don't think I'm interesting but you never know who finds what interesting and why.

Ok if you have a drone this would be seriously freaky but fun to do to your friends

I saw someone flying one in the Milton District High School track area last weekend. Looked pretty cool to me!

The people worried about their privacy in the presence of drones clearly haven't flown one or viewed the footage. We have a pretty good one (it's mostly to entertain our kids/dogs/inspect the roof and see what's in the forest behind our house), but the footage is so unstable that looking at people isn't all that entertaining... The battery life on them also sucks, it can only be up for 15 minutes at the most so you can get a few hundred meters and have to turn back or you lose you drone... No one needs to worry about their privacy, because A) you're probably not that interesting and B) you can't get a clear/stable image even if you were.

If you have a higher end drone, DJI for example, and a proper mount with a gimbal, the footage is amazingly clear. These units cost minimum $1000 and can easily get to $2000, $3000 range.

They are being used to create video's for house sales, weddings, etc. It wouldn't be commercially viable if it wasn't clear.

examples:

Here's one in full high def with VERY easily seen faces and VERY stable.

That's about the quality that we have and I didn't see anything terribly detailed in the videos you posted until it got within hitting range.... At that point it's not really inconspicuous and anyone doing something "private" would probably stop. It's no different than camera phones, except with a drone, you know it's filming and it's in plain sight.

When viewing on youtube, ensure you choose the high def quality and you can make out faces without any issue.

Which drone and camera system do you have? These ones are done with much higher end gear and if you aren't getting sharp quality, you've got something wrong.

It's only a matter of time before optical zooming becomes normal and readily available.

Another high quality video...

But still... What are people worried about someone else seeing? (I'm honestly curious)... If I saw a drone hovering over my house I'd be flattered lol
What are people hiding in their back yard that they don't want people to see? Aliens? Mistresses?

It's not about that - you could say the same about bill C-51 and the government looking into your lives without warrants. Hey - I've got nothing to hide, but still - my privacy is my privacy

Who is the guy that flys his motorized hand glider thing close to Britannia and Fourth line? Seen him a couple times now and man does he move fast.. Was going 80 on Britannia and he was ahead of me the whole time!
Pretty cool to see the lights floating in the air in the night time too!

No idea, I've seen him as well. He was flying along side me driving one day south of LSL. He definitely gets going fast. Funny enough he was flying up there with another drone the day I saw him.

People need to drop their privacy obsessions.
You should be worried about this thing falling on your head, not your privacy.
