Hey guys

besides getting a big huge dumpster what options do i have? I need to do some landscaping around a new driveway and its too much soil to put in bags. is there any other options other than getting a dumpster?

Maybe a neighbour could use some clean fill. Just a thought. Getting rid of dirt can be a real hassle.

You can take it yourself to the dump. I did that a couple of weeks ago. The charge is ten dollars for a pickup truck full and you get to dump it out in the dirt section which is in the thick of the garbage area (be prepared for the nasty smell)

You could cut holes in your pockets and take a handful every time you go out.
Scatter it around like in Escape from Alcatraz.

Options? Umm... Not much. I guess you can look on kijiji to see if anyone has listed an ad for clean fill wanted or you can post an ad. You can also post it on Cleanfill.ca Other then that I guess you can fill your blue bins with soil and ask Mattamy if you can dump them on one of their new upcoming sites.

Maybe try to rent a bin and share with someone.. I have a few cu ft I need to get rid of, but I put it in the paper bags and every 2 weeks the pile gets lower! Soil is really heavy, so I can only put a little at a time.

Why not just drive east, south or west and dump it on some farm fields like a lot of other people from this town clearly do. Thanks for posting and trying to find a legitimate solution to your soil problem. I just take it to the dump. It is actually pretty cheap. Or if I only have a small amount I add it to the yard waste bags a bit at a time so it isn't obvious(and feel guilty about it).
