Does anyone here have an Android TV box and how is it working for you. Thinking about getting one so I can dump Bell.

Bought the MyGica Android box. Followed the instructions to put in the TvAddons modules into Kodi and get TV shows. It comes with a remote control for itself. It's also a very capable media centre. If you buy a wireless keyboard and mouse you can use it to do basic web surfing. It's runs Andrioid so you have a web browser, email client, etc. It has streaming ability, it has the Netflix app already so if you sign up for Netflix it'll work. You can plug in a usb drive and play most formats of video files through it. I believe you can stream videos from a PC as well, haven't tried it yet.

You can buy the MyGica's at Canada Computers here at JSP and Main.

Mind you that these android boxes don't support Netflix in HD.

As mentioned in the other thread, I ended up with the Nexus Player after returning an Android Box. Still really happy with this. Netflix in HD and Kodi works flawless.

I have a minix neo x8-h

Runs kodi and all the popular add one no problem.

Highly recommend a wireless keyboard, for easier typing for searches and captchas

I've easily saved $1000 since going android route (no cable) and I use an hd antenna for some local news

I have the Amazon Fire Stick which only works on Wi-Fi, streams Netflix and Amazon videos in HD, and runs Kodi. Like it a lot. Quite a few are on sale on Kijiji (they are not sold by Amazon Canada).

I have TekSavvy 30/10 and have been encountering a TON of lag when I run my android dongle (RKM ML802iv quad core but only 1g ram)... i'm gonna order a new 2gig RAM box in the near future and I hope that solves the problem and it's not my overall internet issue (Ookla Speedtest tells me I get 30 Mbps DL speed)

does anyone know of a way of testing your internet connecting "inside" the house??

PS the dongle streams most items flawlessly from my USB external drive

does anyone know

I'm planning on choosing an ISP once we move in so I'm hoping it really isn't TS as they are one of our options!

Is your dongle connected by wifi? I'm not an expert but would such streaming be better wired? Just like gaming, even with 30/10?

Also, I was researching a few forums with running Kodi and it seems the larger boxes may be better, such as ATV2, Nexus Player or FireTV? I wish I were able to do some testing with them but I'll have to save that when we move :(
I don't plan on signing up to TV services, only unlimited internet so I'd be interested up follow up on your results :)

I daresay I don't see any difference between my Fire TV stick (wi-fi) and Kodi on the Zotac PC (wired).
