Anyone know which surface is cheapest/most cost effective in the grand scale of it all? We are not fans of the stamped concrete so now we are looking to get some quotes on a wood deck perhaps for the backyard. Is this the most cost effective of the bunch for a patio surface? It would only sit maybe a foot (one patio step) off the ground...one level.

Any ideas?? :?
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of the stamped concrete either, but when my neighbor and I had french curbs put in for the driveways, he had them pour a plain white concrete deck in his backyard, which he keeps a few potted plants on (that go inside in the winter) and he has a tent that sits on it, and it looks lovely and clean, especially in the summer. I gather it's very cost effective, although I never asked how much it cost him.
