Hi Folks

So you get the drift, my 4 year old girl was helping mummy in the kitchen and decided mummy's cabinet needed some TLC with lysol wipes.

Now we have a door with lighter streaks where she "cleaned". Its natural maple, I am no DIY guru :oops:

Any tips on what I could do please?

Thank you and have a nice weekend all!

Maybe try letting her do the rest of the cabinets so they all match?

:lol: Just joking! We wish you the best of luck, and can see our kids doing the same thing once we get our new place!

Hope you find a better solution.

Yeah tell me about it! I was surprised

It looks better now, I just left it but you can still see the difference if you look closer. Good thing its at the bottom and not very visible.

@Sydaree :lol:

I am surprised, there must be some sort of coating on it, I how old is your house, are you within the 1 year? If so call the warranty office. I do not think that lysol wipes should be doing that....

As a kid, I once tried to help my parents clean the house for a family gathering by cleaning a wood credenza we had. I sprayed it with Windex at the top and thought it would clean it really well if I just let the windex run down from top to bottom. Well, it eventually dried and left a bunch of drip stains all along it.

I know that doesn't help you, but I can vouch for your kid that it was likely a very honest mistake. :)

Thanks for all your replies, the house is just some weeks new!

She did use lysol wipes and must have used some elbow grease as well. She kept yelling am helping you clean it up mom! :lol: By the time we checked it was kinda sticky and lighter, now its dried up but you can still notice the difference if you look closely

I’ll see what Mattamy can do if anything, I’ll get my wife to do that, has a better charm on the phone. :wink:
