We have cogeco, we're more near Ferguson & Clark though so not in the same area as you. My speed with Cogeco sometimes appears to flucuate, but it's hard to pin down. But I have frequent problems with CNN videos, i.e. on the CNN website when you select to view their videos. On Cogeco at home it sometimes cuts/freezes the video after 15 or 20 seconds sometimes. |

We've had terrible internet reliability ever since moving here - we're in the new part at Thompson & Derry. Pages take forever to load and we often have to refresh to get it to really load as it seems to freeze. I'm not sure if this is because we also have a modem for our digital phone, or if it's because so many people in the neighbourhood also use Cogeco high speed internet and the volume is slowing down the service? Either way - it doesn't feel very "high speed"!! |

I just got Cogeco High-Speed installed on the weekend, so far it is running really fast...I'm on the new Hepburn (Derry/Thompson). When the tech was doing the installation he took out the cable connecters in the wallplate that Mattamy installed and he replaced then with new Cogeco ones. He said that the new ones have a better connectivity. Anyhow, I am going to run the speed test when I get home and see what the results are. |

Speed is relative. Relative to your computer configuration, the speed of your router, the amount of traffic upstream from you (cable OR dsl), how fast the site you are connected to can construct and dish out content. Speed is relative. I've used Cogeco for years without any major problems other than the line getting cut. Yes you are on shared bandwidth.. but so what.. that's how the internet works. It's 'shared' everywhere. |
