Post subject:  Lawn Mower Advice..???

I'm looking to buy one but can't decide if I should go for gas vs electric. My main concern is since I live in townhouse (middle unit) and I have to bring the unit from back and front (or vice versa) what is the best option for me? Are they they same weight? What brand should I get? Any input would be greatly appreciated....I saw Black and Decker electric at Walmart for about $129 or so, that is the one I have in mind.

In my mind, the best solution for townhouse owners is a push mower. Cheap, and light, and the best for the environment.

If you want to buy a mower for long term, the best brands, which will cost you more are either a Honda, or a Lawn Boy (which has a Honda Motor on it). Anything you get from Home Depot, Wal-mart, etc, are crap.

If you do get a gas mower, it is important to keep up the maintenance recommendations to get it to last a long time.

get gas, it can handle large yards. Are you going to live in that place forever?

Just walk around back with your mower, who cares about walking on peoples lawn. To bad for them, as you have to do what you have to do right? If no fences no worries, if there are fences hopefully they have been done right with the easement. Where I live fences have just started. Everyyone to date did them wrong, and now have stupid gate through each property instead of an easement. My father-in-law and I did ours, ourselves with the easement and it looks great, plus our backyard is fully private. Our other neighbours who haven't had fences done yet are going to be doing the same thing. they are the smart ones, the ones who think 3 feet is a large amount, they are the no so smart ones.

PM for pics, and remember, always think ahead, with lawnmowers and fences.

Much to my disappointment, all one has to do to satisfy the easement if a gate, so your neighbors fences aren't wrong.

I'm in general anti-fence on a town house, beyond maybe a 6-8ft privacy panel, but since I'm on the gas line, fencing the back of my property would actually ruin a perfectly nice view.

I think the zoning and easements are also a little unfair. At least for my block, only one of the two end units has an easement through there back. So if you the house beside them, to get your mower through you have to cross four peoples fronts and backs. Suffice it to say that neighbor just takes it through the house.

As for your neighbor, yeah thats against the law big time.
