Hey everyone, I moved into HSV in March and wanted some info on landscaping etc on th property. I have read here that it is recommended not to do fencing for about two years due to grading and town takeover etc. but want about doing interlocking in the backyard of front yard? I have about 6 patio stones which barely has enough to room for the steps from the patio doors and for me to stand behind the BBQ. Also I am not a fan of having grass right beside the foundation.

What are the guidelines for this?

Thank you :)

There are no guidelines for paving/stone installation in your property. Do whatever you want.

Oh that is good to know. So, no issues come inspection by the town regarding drainage etc?

Inspection for what though ? your are not excavating at the storm or sanitary piping level which are usually 6-8 feet below grade or more. The only thing i can potentially see is obtaining the locates which is free and is referred by landscaping contractor, if required.

When it comes to paving, or decks, or walkways etc. You can't, just do what you want. You must leave "X" number of feet from the property line. I think it's 18inches from the property line on either side, also the paved or covered area can only be a certain % of the properties entire footprint.

Call the city and find out, it to do with drainage.
