 I knew it was coming and construction is being done, so it's nice to see that the Lowes signs are up on the Milton Mall signs.

I'm not sure how the parking will work or how big the store will be but I always liked Lowes and it will be a great "anchor" store for the mall.

I like Lowes but I think it is a bad location for the store. I think there would probably be large trucks coming in and out delivering supplies and picking up supplies. Another traffic hassle. What do you all think?

No doubt it will be madness as they stock up the store prior to opening.

I do too. I shopped there a lot. Target sucked and Walmart sucks even more.

We have Rona, Home Depot, Home Hardware, Lumberville. I guess, Lowes is also needed.

Lowes is awesome, having more selection won't hurt...but Zellers was the best, it was where the lowest price was the law....everyday.

More selection of what? Do they cut their wood differently or is it a nickle cheaper?

I don't find Lowe's to be that different than Home Depot in terms of their service or offerings; I have no loyalty to either store. The biggest thing for me personally would be location and not having to drive all the way to the polar opposite side of town to get to Home Depot (because how many projects only require one trip to the hardware store?). From my house you can get to the Lowe's in Burlington faster than you can to the Home Depot in Milton!

I've shopped lots at Lumberville, very nice people, but they have missed out on a considerable number of purchases simply based on their hours, and I dislike buying lumber there due to the fact that nothing has prices and I have to go to the front to have everything looked up in the price book.

Lowe's is year round open until 10pm if I'm not mistaken, and I think Home Depot usually only has later hours for the summer months (unless thats changed, or will change with Lowe's coming to town?).

I was told that Rona will be closing when Lowes opens Because Lowes owns Rona

Then why didn't they put Lowe's where Rona is? If they already owned the building and land, why buy another property? Just renovate Rona.

Because that Rona is privately owned. Rona purchased a bunch of brands that had franchise stores, hence these hold in the wall crappy hardware store. Rona is not likely to close in my opinion - it's franchised and the agreements I don't think let them just decide to close the store.

I've heard about that Rona "going out of business" since we moved to Milton.
