Even if they did, they'd still find a way to f**K it up.

Just use the storm ponds like everyone else. Don't let the signs deter you.

The Canadian Red Cross has an Ice Safety web page below with good information.

They recommend -

 15 cm for walking or skating alone
 20 cm for skating parties or games
 25 cm for snowmobiles

I know that Burlington has a programme that they will put up the boards at approved parks if they get 6 volunteers to clean, clear and maintain the ice. Maybe Milton also has a similar programme, if not maybe you can look into getting a programme like this started in your neighbourhood

You also may want to find out what happened with this project viewtopic.php?f=1&p=512943

Or, just do what old Hodor does.

 First let someone else play, so you don't ruin your day.
 If you hear a crack, start skating back.
 If you hear a "whumpf," get the f**K off.

Lol... that's the best advise ever.

Hamilton has a new outdoor skating trail through the woods figured I would share on here

How's the ice at Rotary today? Tough year to keep it open so far.

Or a pond that is nicely maintained for today?

If you just want somewhere small to skate (for the kids to learn), the baseball diamond behind Mill Pond has been made into a "rink".
