What are your thoughts in investing in scugog ladies and gents, I see potential for an upcoming explosion in the area this year. They went from seeing house prices climb 7-10% per year to over 45% per year (compared to Milton 20%).

Anybody own any investments there?

Scugog is like Kitchener with more rats and less pollution and a generally dirtier population. Plus when you have to tell people where you live and say the word "Scugog" it sounds like you're choking on an old sock.

The article you shared specifically says that the increases are driven not by actual demand but by speculators and investors and is not sustainable. Did you even read it?

FYI - there were two sales, one at $1.6M and one at $2.2M that skewed the average up by over $200k. Without those, average price in January 2017 so far is $520k.

Hate to say it Suki Lai you are not investing. You are speculating.

But in this climate go for it since:

1) Economic cycles are no longer present; we are always in a state of constant growth.
2) They are not making anymore land. Ontario is almost full so you better hurry.
3) Canada will always bring in tons of immigrants and everyone of them needs to own a house.
4) Cost of living is going down and wages are constantly increasing.
5) Ontario as a province has no debt and taxes will never go up.
6) Anything going on outside of Canada does not matter; politically, economically etc.
7) Interest rates will forever stay at almost zero and nothing can change this.
