Has anyone bought a Kia Rondo 7 seater? I am looking for pros and cons in terms of performance ond reliability.

I think youd be better off getting a Suzuki xl-7. more reliable, similar price point. I hear bad things about kia after sales service around here.

That clapping commercial is annoying as hell, but no reliability data will be available yet since the model just came out. Never buy a first year model; they tend to have teething problems that get worked out in the second or third year of production.

I drive a 2006 Kia Rio5, my husband drives a 2006 Kia Sportage and my mother drives a 2006 Kia Sorrento...none of us have had any problems whatsoever with aftersales, services have been reasonably priced and efficient, so major complaints. My husband desperately wants to trade his Sportage in for a Rondo, but he only likes driving manual transmissions and the Rondo is only available in automatic.

I heard that Rondo is based on same as Kia Magentis platform, same engine...
It has been around for a while in european countries under the name "Carens" and I have heard all good reviews so far. I guess it's fairly new for reviews in Canada....

If the Magentis is a good car, the Rondo is probably fine too.

The Rondo is a cool car because it seats seven, but isn't a van. Great for families.

Buying a new vehicle can be so stressful, eh? Have fun!

Very stressful. Buy used instead, even if it's 3-4 years old. You don't take the depreciation hit. Case in point. I have a Nissan Maxima. A 2003 model can be found for $14 000-$16 000 right now. When these puppies were brand new 4 years ago, they cost $40 000. Not every car will depreciate like that, but I always recommend used with service records and an inspection.

As for the post on the Aveo and the resetting clock, do your radio station settings reset too? If so, there's gotta be something screwed up with the charging system that's resetting your car's main computer.
