Be tough to find a concrete company that does interlock or vice versa. Regardless you wont find anyone now to do this work for you this year. If they are reputable they will be pretty much booked solid. I just had some concrete work done and I got my quotes in Feb and booked him then. When they did my job we shot the sh*t and hes booked right thru till Oct now.

True - I may be too late to get this done this season. lets see what happens.

I think what newhome is looking for is a "General contractor" one who doesn't do the work but is responsible for all aspects and will hire and oversee sub contractors. You deal with the GC and pay him, the GC pays all the tradesmen & materials. The GC is responsible for warranties and calling back ppl to rectify.

It's more costly to go this way but no headaches for the homeowner.

sh*t man if all this person wants is someone to tell them what'll look nice and get a few quotes for them and pay money for this, I'd do it.

You are partially right :D But I dont want the contractor to tell me what will look nice - that is the decision i will make but the contractor should have enough info. to help me make that decision.

I don't think that's what he's looking for at all. I think he's looking for someone who can tackle all of these jobs, not a specialist in each field or a GC/Project Manager.

Yes this is a more sensible comment so I will ignore your previous arrogant comment "You seem to know everything you are looking for. Why bother asking anyone here?"

Ok it seems like my request for asking for a preferred contractor for patio work is more complicated than expected.

So here is what I am looking for, if that doesnt tell the viewers what I am looking for then nothing will... :)

I want a person to drive to my house in his work van or a truck and should have the following tools available:

- a pen
- a company letter to provide a written estimate
- a measuring tape
- a few samples that will help me decide what I want to get done
- should have access to email
- should be able to provide me with a estimate on the spot or within 24 hours
- should be able to advise me on his availability on getting the job done
- should have good work ethics

Lets try this again.

I'll take back my sensible comment if you're not careful.

On a second thought, let me reply to your arrogant comment earlier which was "You seem to know everything you are looking for. Why bother asking anyone here?"

Answer: I never said that I know everything, you are putting words in my mouth. BTW - how did you contribute to this post? Why bother trolling if you are of no help?

Happy now?

1) It was a joke, relax.
2) How did I contribute? I clarified exactly what you were looking for, because your original post was incoherent to the point that 95% of the replies are about trying to figure out exactly what you are trying to find.

Happy? I'll go back to "trolling" now.
