Hey All, this Sunday is the annual Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart, at the very last minute, my wife and I decided to sign up for this great event, and were hopping we could count on our friends and family, and internet denizens for a little support. For those of you who haven’t heard about it before, the event involves shutting down the DVP for one morning, and letting loose a small herd of Toronto cyclists, to raise money, and awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I think each and every one of us can think of a friend, family member, or colleague that has been touched by heart disease or a stroke, with in my own family my own brother was born with what may have been a fatal heart defect, if it weren’t for research and advancement funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation over the years.

So since I signed up for this at the last minute, I'm not going to come close to my fund raising goal, so I thought I would cast my nets wide accross the internet, and I suppose into my backyard. Thanks, I wasn't really expecting donations here (even if they would be nice) but I like to raise the issue. I think it is one of the few events that just by participating in it, you actually help, as you reduce your own risk factors for heart disease. Raising awareness, and funds is just icing on the cake.
