Does anyone here have bird feeders? If so, where do you buy your birdseed. I'm looking for a good quality seed with no fillers. The seed I buy now is from either the TSC store or Canadian Tire. Their birdseed has a wheat filler in it and the birds won't eat eat the wheat filler - everything else but. It gets swept up and thrown away. I but 50 lb. bags of seed and I swear 20 lb. of that is wheat filler. Thanks.

We use bulk barn. I have no idea if it’s wheat saturated. Never even crossed my mind. Ever.
Fraggin unemployable birdies with their freeloader squirrel wheat junkie friends. Lucky to get their Canadian citizenship and abuse the system, but they’re cute so I feed their big eyes and small skulls.

Can't we buy without the wheat filler?

We have a bird feeder in our yard, and use the "no waste" seed that doesn't have any shells or filler. The only problem with it is that the birds love it a little too much. If we fill it in the morning, it will be totally empty by night. I swear they sit on the roof and the SECOND they see my husband walk out back with the bag, they swarm. But they do gobble up all of it. The little guys eat off the feeder, and the mourning doves and pigeons clean up the ground. (we also keep our feeder on a shepherds hook in the middle of the yard... too thin and slippery and too far from the fence/trees for any squirrels to end up on it. It's fun to watch them try through!)

Where do you buy the no waste seed if you don't mind me asking. I have 2 feeders in a tree with a dome over top to keep the squirrels off but I do throw seed on the ground for the doves under the feeders. I also have a separate suet feeder for the woodpeckers. The squirrels have a separate feeder with peanuts. But too much filler in the seed I buy. They won't eat the wheat filler. It's swept up and goes in the garbage and there is a lot of it.

We get it at Home Depot. I think it's made by Scott's. We never have any waste at all! (We've tried adding a suet feeder but the birds still haven't found it / aren't interested).
