Sounds good. We should go to City Hall and shotgun some beers, then we can just drive around, unless you need to pick up the kids, then we can do that first.

I sounded like you when the seatbelt laws came out. I'm embarrassed of that ignorance in hindsight.

The issue at hand is NOT that distracted driving is bad
The issue is the law is stupid

Until they rewrite the seat belt laws to give you a $1000+ fine & license suspension for failure to comply it is not even in the same world
And people have been disobeying that law for far more years (saw OPP ticketing someone on onramp just Friday)

Well Minty, the obvious difference is that one act of stupidity affects the individual only, while the other act of stupidity has the power to reach out and touch others. That's a no-brainer. I know where I stand on that one too.

I suggest to you that distracted driving is stupid
and the law is bad.
Suggestion: Stop doing stupid things.

That post makes no sense at all (you been in the weed thread again?)

Not wearing a seat belt will often result in your own death
Legal penalty is a few bucks
Distracted driving at worst is a minor fender dent
Legal penalty is suspended license and thousands in fines & insurance

Are you kidding me?
Death is less important than chipping someones bumper paint?

Well it obviously made some sense to you, you got it half sorted outt. But who says an accident resulting from distracted driving can never be lethal? Where are you getting that from? You're just making stuff up here aren't you.

I have to agree with this.

"Distracted driving at worst is a minor fender dent" Try head on collision, jumping the curb and wiping out bus shelter with ppl in it. And you are the one the weed thread big time.

Peppers is far too antagonistic to be a cannabis user. Seems more like a meth-type personality to me.

Is there a penalty for distracted internetting?
I know the penalty for drunk internetting is a bunch of unwanted EBay purchases arriving 5 days later.
Just got me a toque that looks like a hockey helmet in today's mail.

lol now who is making stuff up
Google the newstory or it never happened
For that matter, link any story where distracted driving was primary cause of death?

Speeding is responsible for about a 3rd of all accidents according to multiple sources
Not wearing a seatbelt and under the influence (weed, drugs, or alcohol) are the other 2 big heavy hitters in terms of deaths

You know speed and drugs, or alcohol can be proven with evidence. If texting, distraction, IS the actual primary cause it can't be proven so why even bother to mention that possibility when you already have speed and impaired.

I'm sure you will point to allegedly, strongly believe, etc to refute every article, but you are stupid to say that distracted driving was not the cause of someone dying (driver or other party).
