So just walked in the door, and the landline that we somehow haven't yet dumped rang. Through the din of a conga line of planes landing overhead, I could make out that it was "Jason" from Toronto Pearson International Airport! They're conducting a survey of this program now that it's over, via phone or online.

The test is now complete. We’re asking residents to share the feedback on the program as a whole. Tell us what you think by filling out a quick survey.

Survey closes on October 9, 2018.

Have your say

Next steps for the program will be available closer to the end of the year, after an assessment of operational data and community feedback.

For all the flak Pearson takes, being expensive to park, expensive for planes to land in, and whatever else - it’s refreshing to think that they actually do give a sh*t about people and are at least trying something.

Agree, it almost feels like Democracy for a change *sniff* *wipes tear*

I presume their "assessment of operational data" would include costing of these rearrangements. It must have a cost, and they'll compare it to the benefits. If they don't hear enough back, their problem disappears. It's important for people to give them feedback about this, to keep the plane racket down over my yard next Summer. Come on folks, you can do it!

The survey is seriously flawed (laughably the only 2 answers you can give are noise was the same, or you noticed a decrease in noise)

They also claim no routes were changed (yet many on this board have already complained this year noise was worse than ever and many have surmised Oakville traffic got pushed into our airspace)

I think you misread the questions. The first question asked about relief weekends and the second one was about higher traffic weekends. It clearly gave you 3 distinct options; More impact, about the same or less impact.

Did the noise levels or number of planes overhead on a non-relief weekend feel more impactful than what you experience on a regular weekday? *

Less impact than a regular weekday
Same amount of impact as a regular weekday
More impact than a regular weekday

On Monday May 6, 2019, Council meeting, the GTAA will present their findings from the temp. noise monitoring. The GTAA has not stated whether or not they will install permanent noise monitoring terminals in our community.

Permanent Noise Monitor Terminals will provide dB readings which the current noise reports do not. The report is on the Milton Website.

If you are bothered by noise you should advise the Mayor and Councillors that the permanent NMTs are worthwhile having in Milton. They exist in Halton Hills and Oakville.

There is no cost to the town. The GTAA assumes all costs and will produce monthly reports showing dB, altitudes, etc on a 24/7 basis.
