After more than 50 years the team has moved to Brantford.

Damn!
We’ve been curious about that for years, but never bothered. Sorry everyone.

The population of Milton back in the 60s was ~6000 and now we lost the team. Sounds a bit odd, however I get it, same thing here... been curious but never bothered enough to attend games.

Agree with a population greater than 130k and the large number of registration of kids in house league and rep hockey, you would think the local community would support the team with the hopes of their own kid playing for the team one day. Bottom line, no one cares back in the 90s they would sell out the rink every home game. Just too much other entertainment today.

It wasn't the population that was the problem, it was the last two owners.
One bought the team for his son to play and killed any chance of having decent players on it with his antics.
The other bought it to run into the ground so he could move it. And it worked.
