Hello!

I found a cat outside last night around 11pm or so who was hanging out around my driveway area. I brought some wet cat food out for this cat and some treats too. It was also crying while sitting in the dead end/blocked off part of fourth line (right at the corner of Harwood and Cedar Hedge). I'm pretty sure I've seen this cat once or twice before around this area, but I'm not 100% sure.

The cat is white and grey with light tabby kinds of markings.

I called the Humane Society about picking up the cat but they weren't able to - it ended up staying overnight at an animal hospital for shelter, and tomorrow the animal control of Milton/Oakville will move the cat to the Burlington shelter (where they take all found strays etc.).

I'm hoping someone is looking for this cute cat and will see this post! If you know whose cat this might be, please call me at 905-805-0957, or here is some info about who to contact at Animal Control:

"Contact the Town of Milton Animal Services:

Call our office at 905-878-7252, ext. 2254 to leave a lost animal report. During business hours our office will check to see if your pet has been picked up by an Animal Services Officer. You can also email us (info@milton.ca).

Contact the Burlington Animal Shelter:

The Burlington Animal Shelter acts as the Pound for the Town of Milton. All stray animals picked up by Milton Animal Services are transported to the Burlington Animal Shelter. They can be reached at 905-335-3030, and are located at 2424 Industrial Street, Burlington. The Burlington Animal Shelter is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They can be contacted by email (animalshelter@burlington.ca). "

Here are some photos of the cat! https://imgur.com/a/V7AnGSi (click on link)

Please help locate its home!

Thank you!

Sent your story to Paul Bertonm, editor of Hamilton Spectator since if the cat ends up in Burlington it would be in his coverage area

Since lost cats in pounds are a dime a dozen I took a spin off Mark Twain's old story

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court

except I said

King Arthurs Cat in a Burlington Court

IMO the Oakville Humane Society is the best place for the cat. That society also covers Milton.

Lets see
adoption fee
microchip tagging
neutering spaying fee
cans of the choicest cat food
bags of kitty litter
cat litter bins
cat travel cages
cat psychologist fees
cat collars
cat leash
cat toys
cat beds
etc etc for about the next 15 to 20 years
then the fee to put the cat down bury it at a pet cemetery

possibly it might run off again and who knows what problems you've
adopted from the previous owner of the "hand me down pet"

No thanks

If the cat showed up here I'd just toss it in a spot far from my house and expect it to be self supporting

a mouser barn cat IOW
